Kristy Cox named finalist for two CMAA Australian Country Music Awards

The Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) has named Kristy Cox as a finalist in the 41st annual Australian Country Music Awards. Known widely as the 'Golden Guitars', this is the first time Kristy has been nominated for the prestigious Awards presented during the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January each year.

Announced in Sydney on November 12th, Kristy Cox
is a Top 5 Finalist for the following:

NEW TALENT OF THE YEAR
with Miles & Timezones

ALTERNATIVE COUNTRY ALBUM OF THE YEAR
with the album Miles & Timezones
produced by Jerry Salley

The winners will be determined through the final round of judging which is now open to all professional CMAA Members.

Recently winning the 2012 Australian Independent Rising Star Female Award in Mildura's Southern Stars for her top 10 single 'Little Bit of Wonderful', Kristy has had a outstanding year.
Awarded a TSA Award in January for 'Best Bluegrass Song', a successful tour of Australia with Alyece Simmonds and most recently returning from eight weeks in the USA where she showcased at the Americana & IBMA World of Bluegrass conferences in Nashville.

On Saturday the 6th of October, the 2012 Southern Stars winners were announced in Mildura. Known as The Australian Independent Country Music Awards, these awards play a major role in fostering Australian Music talent. Kristy Cox was announced the winner of the 2012 CRS Publicity - Australian Independent Rising Star Female Award. Awarded for the first single 'Little Bit of Wonderful' off Kristy’s current album.

Miles & Timeszones Charts, New Video, Rising Star Nomination & USA

South Australian bluegrass girl, Kristy Cox is on the move, up the National Country Radio charts once again with the latest single 'Miles & Timezones'.

This is the title track from Kristy’s 2012 release and was co-written by Kristy and Lachlan Davidson (Davidson Brothers) who, as a team won the 2012 TSA Bluegrass Songwriting Award in January.

The stunning new official music video for 'Miles & Timeszones' was produced by award winning director Duncan Toombs and is now online & set to air on CMC.

Kristy is thrilled to recieve her very first nomination in the 2012 Southern Stars - The 15th Australian Independent Country Music Awards for her single "Little Bit of Wonderful" in the Female Rising Star category. The song reach #1 on Mildura's 3HOT-FM Top 100 chart earlier this year.

Kristy is currently in the United States with performances in Hollywood, Nashville and various bluegrass festivals throughout the southern states. She will showcase at the IBMA World of Bluegrass Convention as well as the Americana Music Conference during September.

Kristy teams up for National Tour

With dates already confirmed in SA and QLD, Kristy will be touring in 2012 with the extremely talented, 3-time Golden Guitar finalist Aleyce Simmonds. The tour featuring two of Australia's finest young female vocalists promises to be a thrilling show, as the girls plan to perform in many new regions across the country while showcasing the material from their current album releases.

Chart Entry for Kristy Cox's new single

The first single from 'Miles & Timezones' enters the Country Tracks Top 30 chart this week (25/2/12) at #28. Little Bit of Wonderful, written by Nashville songwriters, Michael Fordinal and April Geesbreght was released to radio in December and is gaining widespread airplay across Australia as Kristy Cox promotes her second bluegrass/acoustic country record produced by Jerry Salley. The song also appears at #66 on Mildura's 3HOT-FM Top 100 chart.

Kristy WINS TSA Bluegrass Songwriting Award in Tamworth

Only a week after the release of her new album, Kristy Cox won the TSA Blues, Roots & Bluegrass Award in the 2012 Tamworth Songwriters Association's National Country Songwriting Contest. The winning song, If I Keep On Loving You, was co-written by Kristy & Lachlan Davidson (Davidson Brothers) and features as the opening track on 'Miles & Timezones'. Presented on Tuesday the 24th of January during the Tamworth Country Music Festival, this new section was introduced this year for the first time.

Kristy Cox much anticipated brand new album, 'Miles & Timezones' will be in stores January 13, 2012. Recorded on Music Row in the home of country music, Nashville TN, Kristy's natural vocal ability shines on a selection of great new bluegrass and country songs, again produced by world famous songwriter Jerry Salley. The album features a stellar line up of seasoned acoustic musicians including Cody Kilby and Andy Leftwich (Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder), Randy Khors (Dolly Parton), Scott Vestal and fellow South Australian Kym Warner (The Greencards). 'Miles & Timezones' is the follow up album to her highly-praised debut acoustic record, ‘Breaking New Ground’ which established Kristy on the Australian country scene.

Kristy Cox is the new voice in Australian bluegrass. Adored for her youthful energy infused acoustic country, she has been awarded with radio success and accolades for her talent. ‘Little Bit of Wonderful’ is the first single from Kristy Cox’s forthcoming new album 'Miles and Timezones'. A beautiful modern country song delivered with such honest and rich vocals. Kristy’s grasp of melody on such a positive track can only make you smile. Showcased at Americana and recording new album in the USA

Kristy Cox joined a large group of Australian Artists who performed at the 2011 Americana Music Festival in Nashville mid October. Kristy sang at the famous Bluebird Cafe and the Basement at this major industry event held in music city. Many thanks to Sounds Australia and Dobe Newton who made this showcase possible. Kristy also attended the IBMA's World of Bluegrass Convention and trade show where she met with many artists and industry from around the globe.

My Runaway Enters the Top 30

2011 Victorian Entertainer of the Year, Kristy Cox has had three Top 10 Radio hits from her current multi-award winning album 'Breaking New Ground'. This week on the Australian Country Tracks Top 30 the forth single, My Runaway enters the National charts at number 30. The exciting news comes as Kristy returns to the studio, once again with producer and world renowned songwriter Jerry Salley, to start work on her next career album on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee.

2011 Victorian Country Music Awards

Kristy Cox was the major winner at the 2011 Victorian & National Country Music Awards taking home 5 Trophies on Saturday Night in Whittlesea.
A finalist in 7 categories, Kristy's night ended on a high being named Victorian Entertainer of the Year. The Awards Kristy recieved were:
