‘One Heartbreak Away,’ the first music video from Kristy’s brand new album ‘Living For The Moment’ entered Australia’s Country Music Channel Top 30 last week at #27 climbing this week to #23. The music video was shot in Nashville, TN by producer Thomas Newton at J2 Media. Kristy is preparing for her second European tour which kicks off in London on the 16th of July. Kristy Cox, Australian Bluegrass star, is shining new light in America with her debut US release Living for the Moment.
With multiple Australian Country Music awards to her credit, including the 2013 Australian Independent Artist of the Year, Kristy Cox has found a new home in Nashville, TN and with Pisgah Ridge Records.
Produced by award-winning Nashville-based songwriter Jerry Salley, the album includes heavyweight songwriters such as Jim McBride and Gerald Crabb, as well as Kristy’s own co-writing efforts with Johnny Duke, Stephen Mougin, and Jerry Salley.
Alongside powerhouse songs, Living for the Moment is delivered by an all-star group of award-winning musicians including Mike Bub, Stephen Mougin, Steve Sutton, David Johnson and Darren Nicholson. Showcasing Kristy’s strong vocal ability the song is a great reflection of where the new “Living For The Moment’ album heads musically and how it expands on the bluegrass influences of her previous projects.
Kristy Wins Independent Awards – Oct 2013
Multi-award-winning Australian Bluegrass artist Kristy Cox adds two new honors to her already multi-award winning career with recent wins on Saturday night at the Australian Independent Country Music Awards. Known as The Southern Stars, the prestigious awards are held annually in Mildura, Australia and play a major role in fostering Australian music talent.
Kristy received the 2013 Capital News Australian Independent Female Vocalist of the Year Award, for the current single “I Hate That I Still Love You’ from the album, Miles and Timezones. Kristy also received the evening’s biggest award with the coveted Australian Independent Artist of the Year Award.
Cox has planted new roots in Nashville and recently signed with Pisgah Ridge, an imprint of Mountain Home Music of Arden, North Carolina, USA. She also inked an exclusive songwriting contract with Asheville Forest Music (SESAC). Fans at the recent 2013 International Bluegrass Music conference got a taste of the excitement when Kristy showcased with her band at the Raleigh, North Carolina event.
Kristy Cox is currently at the Crossroads studios in Arden, North Carolina working on her forthcoming project with producer Jerry Salley. The album is set for early 2014 release on the Pisgah Ridge label in both the USA and Australia.

Multi-award-winning Australian Bluegrass artist Kristy Cox plants new roots in Nashville and prepares to record her next album for Pisgah Ridge, an imprint of Mountain Home Music (The Grascals, Balsam Range, Doyle Lawson, The Boxcars). Kristy has been performing in the U.S., Europe and her Australian homeland for years, resulting in #1 hits on Australian radio charts as well as winning several Victorian & National Country Music Awards.
Now she is focusing efforts in the U.S., including a recording contract with Pisgah Ridge, plans for a new tour and band lineup and an exclusive songwriting contract with Asheville Forest Music (SESAC).
“I have had huge support from the Australian Country Music scene which has helped me realise my potential as an artist and reach my goals. I am now ready to spread my wings even further and release my first project in the USA. I believe the Pisgah Ridge family is going to help me reach new heights.
